Experience Summary
I am a professional who is currently investigating a transition to the education field. I have 3 years experience in private tutoring, mostly at the elementary school level. In the past, I have also volunteered my tutoring abilities at local non-profit youth centers. I have extensive experience writing research and analytical papers, both professionally and as a student. I have excellent communication skills, and have gained a reputation as a strong peer resource in my previous position.
Teaching Style
Although my teaching experience is somewhat limited, I have thoroughly enjoyed it when I've been given the opportunity. I have been exposed to several different personalities, and it is clear that each student learns in different way than another. My goal as a tutor has always been to provide the student with an understanding of "the big picture", so that each element of the subject is layered onto the previous one, rather than learning multiple disjointed elements.
