About Me

Experience Summary

As an MBA graduate I have consistently sought to continually improve and manage as many aspects of life that are presented to me. While achieving my BA in Philosophy I stretched my focus into the areas of science and mathematics, given my strengths in those areas. My MBA in Management facilitated the integration of my math and science skills into a practical system of approach and practice. My Calculus skills come in handy while everyone else is doing summations, I find integrals much faster. In addition to tutoring a variety of subjects from history and philosophy to statistics and calculus, I have also tutored students in English, Latin, writing, Geology, Chemistry, Geography, Biology, and Anthropology.

Teaching Style

I thoroughly love teaching as I come from a line of teachers myself. I have demonstrated that learning happens on multiple levels depending on what level one is working on. In my experience, I have learned that understanding is a process which involves listening, question and answer, humility, multiple approaches (including mixed media, visual and audio stimulus, humor, etc.), and a general openness to learn. Patience is key, and to learn is not just to memorize--it is to understand. Through the learning of the knowledge of relationships and the inter-working of things is understanding of subject material attained. We are all children, and as children we strive to break the barriers that close our minds. A good teacher knows how to ferret out these barriers that prevent our learning and open the doors to discovery and thought. It is with this knowledge that every student I have taught and tutored has acknowledged what and how they have learned. Nothing to me is worth more than the reward of knowing how much knowledge and understanding I have imparted to my students.
