Experience Summary
I currently have over 500 hours of college level course work completed with the majority at the graduate/doctoral level focused in the life and health sciences. I have a Doctor of Chiropractic degree with 17 years clinical practice experience, an MS in Human Nutrition and am currently completing my second MS in Human Ecology with a specialization in Human Nutrition. I have taught college level courses at Shasta College and done over 7 years of health/nutrition/wellness seminars. I have tutored students in the Biological/Life Sciences, Human Anatomy/Physiology, Human Nutrition, Health and Wellness over the last five years.
Teaching Style
One of my greatest joys is teaching!!! I prefer to work with high school aged teens, college aged adults and adults of all ages. I excel in one-on-one and small group teaching environments and am a patient, considerate tutor. Communication, interaction, collaboration, participation, and respect are all critical elements in teaching and tutoring. Years of daily dialogue has allowed me to become an accomplished communicator with the ability to engage my listeners, deliver difficult concepts in an understandable manner, and bridge the crucial gap between lecturing and stimulating the active participation of the student. I know how important a tutor can be in helping a student learn challenging material and the difference you can make in that person's life and future is one of the greatest feelings in the world.
