Experience Summary
Completion of a BSBA degree in Management of Information Systems has given me valuable experience in a wide array of business functions as well as a team based and case driven experience over four years. The strongest of my skills are in reading, math, and technology suites such as all Microsoft Office products. I have taught, under minimal supervision by the standard teacher for one year on the fifth grade level. I have tutored ESL, "at-risk," and conflict prone students in english, math, reading, science, and civics. Tutoring was done at the fifth, seventh, eighth, tenth, and twelfth grade levels both in school, after school, and home-based settings.
I am also confident in tutoring freshman and sophomore level students in supply chain management, networking, and systems analysis and design with UML modeling.
Teaching Style
In many ways, learning can be customized to fit the individual interests of students, and I challenge myself to make each session one filled with new ideas and topics. I believe that the combination of hobbies and personal interests, along with the subject matter is the key to learning. While focusing on science, I strive to introduce other related topics and probe for what each student is interested in.
Further, I believe in teaching through learning. Students love to express their own ideas about science, math, and civics, and through challenging these ideas, a teacher can instruct, while simultaneously empowering the student.
