Experience Summary
While at the University of Florida, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. I also minored in history. Studying these subjects enabled me to gain superior reading comprehension and research skills as I worked on numerous essays and oral presentations throughout my time in college. During my time in high school, I tutored fellow students in Spanish and history. Most recently I have worked as a substitute teacher, primarily in middle and high schools. In this position I taught and tutored students in various subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, and social studies.
Teaching Style
I consider education to be the cornerstone in a child's life. As a tutor I use a patient, friendly approach that allows the student to become comfortable with my instruction. I follow a step-by-step process to simplify learning, making topics that seem complex to a student much simpler. I feel all students have the ability to learn and comprehend the material; it is my role as a guide to help them achieve their learning goals and make subject matter relevant. It is my ultimate priority to ensure that students gain the most from their educational experiences.
