Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate from Washington State University and I'm currently looking for employment in the Greater Seattle area. I have a degree in General Mathematics and enjoy helping others understand the material. I will work well with high school and younger students because they would not see me as another teacher because I will treat them as an equal and not a student. I also a a minor in English and have taken many engineering classes. Although I have no professional experience as a tutor, I have helped many of my friends understand the material. I would be a good choice because I had to get help in mathematics when I was an undergrad and I know how to relate and help the students that are having difficulty in mathematics.
Teaching Style
I will work with the students and find where out where they are weakest. By doing so I will be able to give them the knowledge required to understand the material they are struggling with instead of teaching them how to solve the problem at that moment which will prevent them from struggling with mathematics their entire school career. I believe that with out understanding what is going on in the background the students will never fully understand what they are doing. Thus having worked with them to make their weak points their strong points they will gain the confidence needed to go into an exam and pass with a strong grade. I want to help the kids that others have given up on because I feel that it's these students that have the greatest potential to succeed if given the proper guidance in life.
