Experience Summary
For many years, I have always equated my personal happiness with my scholastic achievements. As an International Baccalaureate diploma recipient and a graduate of the University of Florida, I continue to strive for excellence when it comes to my education. While in college, I earned a bachelor's degree in political science, which has enabled me to gain an acute understanding of many areas of politics, including public administration, policy formulation, as well as many facets of environmental politics. While pursuing my degree, I presented many reports and wrote dozens of research papers and essays on a wide array of topics which had a direct positive effect on the development of my excellent communication and grammatical skills. I have tutored students on and off for a handful of years now, in math topics like algebra and geometry, as well as Spanish, and English.
Teaching Style
Teaching is very rewarding to me because I love the feeling I get from knowing that I have made a real and positive impact in someone's education and life. Understandably, learning new ideas or skills can be incredibly daunting to children, teenagers, and young adults alike, but I think that this is where I have a real knack for teaching. Not only am I patient, friendly, and thoughtful, I have the ability to reduce a complicated topic or problem into more easily defined parts. By attacking a problem in this manner, I allow the student to follow my lead, while learning a method by which to solve future problems. This ensures that the student is thinking creatively, critically, and analytically, for himself or herself. My goal is to provide him or her with self-confidence and to make learning fun for the student, so that he or she can reach his or her potential.
