Experience Summary
I obtained a B.S. in Accounting, currently working toward a double Master’s in Finance and International Business. Additionally, I have taught accounting, QuickBooks, business management, marketing and other entrepreneurial classes through the Small Business Development Center at Kaskaskia College as well as possessing skills proven by successful, profitable self-employment. Currently, I am in the process of writing Business Info Guide for Beginners, in which 200+ pages have been written.
Additionally, I am skilled in securing federal and state regulations for payroll tax submission and income tax laws. Excellent background in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger Entries, Trial Balance, Period Adjustments, Reconciliations, and Financial Statements. My business’ main source of income was processing outsourced payroll and teaching QuickBooks Pro accounting software with a two day session every week. As Business Specialist, I taught classes 5 nights per month as well as on a one-on-one basis everyday. I was also selected as a tutor for Minnesota School of Business by the Dean of Online Instruction and highlighted in the school newspaper for my patience and skills in assisting students to gain pertinent knowledge.
Teaching Style
As owner of accounting and QuickBooks training business along with the Business Specialist position at Kaskaskia College, I have trained many individuals in both a classroom setting as well as on a one-on-one basis. I love to teach my skills and assist any person in achieving their absolute best and am able to adapt my teaching skills to fit with that particular person or class. My favorite part of teaching is when I see the "Ah-ha, I understand now!" light in someone's eyes; I really enjoy assisting anyone and helping them understand a specific aspect or an entire idea. I frequently give examples that an individual can personally identify with based on their current job or skills, as well as create spreadsheets and send emails with graphs or steps needed to complete a calculation. I believe everyone has their own learning style and it's my job to adapt my teaching skills into the best presentation so that it's easily understood. I am able to communicate in person, by telephne or online with many examples to initiate and continue the learning process.
