Experience Summary
I am very interested in securing a position, in the field of education and believe that my interests, education, and employment background are appropriate for the position. My professional background is rooted in the sales and service industry. I developed valuable customer service, sales, and inventory management skills in my previous positions. As an undergraduate I took several education classes and also tutored a neighbor in reading during the summer Currently, I volunteer in an 8th grade classroom for Junior Achievement. I also work to consistently coach my sales associates to be successful. Interacting with others is dependent upon strong relationship building, excellent listening skills, and patience. Teaching Style
One of the strongest abilities I have is maintaining a high level of patience with others. I exercise patience with others on a daily basis whether interacting with my family, shopping at the grocery store, or driving on the highway. One of my most vivid memories of exercising patience with another person is when my neighbor, Kaitlyn, was learning to read. I practiced reading with Kaitlyn three afternoons a week during the summer. I worked patiently with her as she struggled to make out sounds and work her way through beginner books. Slowly, Kaitlyn began to master the sounds of each written word. Soon enough, she began reading with confidence and purpose. It is crucial for teachers to recognize that not everyone learns at the same pace. Sometimes you have to tailor the way you work with someone to make the transfer of information easier to understand.
