Experience Summary
The importance of education has always been clear to me. I was born into a middle class family without a lot of resources. It became obvious to me that if I desired to pursue higher education I would have to qualify for scholarships and grants. I earned a bachelor degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Radio and Television. I was able to do voice over work at area radio stations. I wanted to earn a graduate degree so I applied to and was accepted into a gradaute program. I chose to study Education and Theology. I completed my degree in 1996. I have taught on both the high school and collegeiate level.
Teaching Style
I love to be in the classroom. I love the process of learning. It is important to understand that children learn at different paces and in different ways. It is important for us as instructors to recognize this dynamic. I particularly believe that we have a responsibility to embrace this dynamic and encourage and challenge our students to be their best. I believe in using all of the resources available to the teacher to include theaters, museums and libraries. There are teachable moments everywhere. My job is to find and make use of them.
