Experience Summary
As a Pinellas County School District Title 1 teacher I have taught and tutored elementary school students in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. I have taught kindergarten through fifth-grade students individually, or in groups of four to six pupils.
I particularly love writing plays with my second-grade kids! They were prolific writers under my direction, and enthusiastic performers!
At Philadelphia's Temple University, I earned a B.A. in Journalism, and also took graduate level elementary education courses at Saint Joseph's University, also in Pennsylvania. Additionally in the Keystone state, I was a newspaper reporter, freelance writer, and advertising copywriter.
Teaching Style
I love working with elementary, and jr. high school students. Kids love me because I am very friendly, encouraging, extremely patient, and a lot of fun. My lessons are highly creative, and engaging.
Students especially like me because I am a natural at boosting their self-esteem and igniting their enthusiasm to learn. I love teaching creative writing and am very clever in integrating science, art, and history into my lesson plans, and tutoring assignments.
Because I am very kind, friendly, fun, and have a lot of energy and enthusiasm, my students are never bored. I am most proud of my abilities to inspire children to learn. Under my direction, my students are more confident, creative, and much more eager to learn about everything under the sun - and beyond!
