Experience Summary
I am truly passionate about teaching and instruction of any kind. Born in Manchester, England, I have taught English, French and Math to students in England, France and the United States respectively during summer school as well as part of a National Service program. I have also mentored and instructed teenage girls in Washington, DC. as part of a girls mentoring program initiated by former First Lady Laura Bush. I continue to “instruct” on my own time and give assistance to kids/teenagers where and when they need it. Having earned a BA in English as well as a BA in French, I had the opportunity to strengthen analytical reading and writing in both languages; design and construct essays/reports. Both undergrad and grad school prepared me for the world of consulting. My instruction skills in my place of employment included designing and developing a global sales model to help strengthen client performance achievements, motivate account teams, and create win-win, long-term, business advisor relationships. I can teach English Language/Reading/Writing, French, History, Earth Science, SAT, GMAT Prep, Analytical & Critical Reasoning.
Teaching Style
I am a firm believer in starting out and "listening critically" to a child's specific needs. Tuturing gives one an opportunity to focus on your student's weakness and devise strategies as to how best to assist in strengthening those areas. Children love attention and if given the motivation, will shine in due time. My goal is to listen, be collaborative with both the children as well as the parents in order to provide the best instruction and assistance possible. I am easy to get along with and have no difficulty in getting children/students alike to open up. I look forward to being of service.
