Experience Summary
I have a degree in music from Boston University. Languages have been my passion throughout my schooling. I studied 5 years of Latin, 3 years of French through high school, then went on in colerge with 1 year each of German, French and Italian. I lived Germany for 13 years where I was employed at the Ferguson Language Institute to teach English as a 2nd language to all age groups and class sizes from private to large. I have taught German privately in this area as well as a class at the Sarasota Board of Realtors. I speak fluent German and near fluent Italian. I also teach voice presently at the Allegro Music Academy in Sarasota and continue to teach English as a 2nd language. My passion is teaching.
Teaching Style
Serving as a teacher over the last 24 years has provided me with the experience to inspire, encourgage and motivate my students to learn with enjoyment. Working with international students has developed strong and diverse teaching and interactive skills. My work has involved students of all ages and cultural backgrounds, which has inspired me to be creative and innovative according to each student's strengths and skill. My teaching style is derived from learned skills, exchange of ideas with colleagues and personal study of language. It is a flexible customized style.
