Experience Summary
My four-year venture throughout college has opened my eyes to the world around us more than I could have expected. It has allowed me to become a more efficient communicator with various types of people. I have been involved with children on several occasions throughout my life, though I haven't had 'official' teaching experience. In college I was involved with SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) which is a community service based project centered around teaching and helping children. I was also a Mad Science instructor for kids in summer school, and a coach of a children's hockey team.
Teaching Style
Youngsters come in all different shapes and sizes, as well as different brain patterns. Being able to communicate and level with children is imperative in a teaching environment. My teaching style would be one of which that is goal-oriented, organized, and clear. An open-feedback forum is also something that I also believe in. It's important that parents, as well as the student, can communicate with me on what does and does not work as far as teaching strategies are concerned. I am very open-minded, honest, and positive. It puts a smile on my face to watch people succeed, especially if I was able to be a part of it.
