Experience Summary
I am a graduate of the College of Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati. However, my career search and passion for providing students with the tools of academic success, has led me into the field of education. I am currently a graduate student at the College of Mount St. Joseph in the Teacher Education Apprenticeship Master’s - Multicultural Special Education (TEAM-MSE) Program. I will complete the final segment of the program in August of 2008 with the culmination of my research project and casptone.
While completing my undergraduate degree, I was a volunteer tutor for a local youth group. In 2004, I tutored at-risk students at an inner city school. I have also been employed as a contractual tutor for an in-home tutoring service. I have experience tutoring learners in the following subject areas: reading, writing, spelling, social studies, beginning Spanish, study skills and mathematics. This list is not inclusive of the areas that I am competent to accommodate.
Teaching Style
I am sensitive to students’ specialized and changing needs and have proven ability to develop rapport with learners. I believe it takes more than a single individual to make a difference in the lives of youth. Therefore, I recognize the value of a being a team player and the importance of communication amongst parents and myself, so that I will be able to provide the best education possible for my students.
My previous experiences teaching, tutoring and, otherwise, interacting with students have been dynamic and I anticipate sharing my drive to foster the academic talents of your student(s). “Education is an equalizer for all.”
