Experience Summary
As a Substance Abuse Program Case Manager, I conducted psycho-educational group sessions related to addiction/recovery issues and worked in a juvenile’s detention/commitment program. In adult corrections, I facilitated Addiction Treatment Counseling and Life Skills groups. When I worked in the foster care system, I taught Independent Living Skills to youth who were transitioning out of the system. All of these positions required extensive record-keeping duties and demanded strong writing skills.
Teaching Style
I consider myself an empathetic and patient teacher of children and young adults. I believe that all children can learn and that it is incumbent upon the educator to strive to find what motivates the individual to achieve greater heights. To this end, the teacher must be a communicator who appreciates the importance of meeting the pupil wherever he is academically and help him to better understand his potential.
