Experience Summary
I have been a junior high math teacher, which includes teaching Algebra for 25 years. I also do tutoring after school and in the summer. I tutored at Sylvan for 10 years. I hold a BA degree in Math and a MS degree in Math. I have taken many workshops over the years. I alwasy attend the ICTM conference.
Teaching Style
I enjoy math and try to make it fun for the students. We do hands on activities which are fun for them, but also gets them to understand the concept. I use Algebra wrap-ups, Algebra tiles, "Hands-on- Algebra" program. I have creative lesson plans, for example, which uses a deck of cards to play an Integer War Game. I teach in a Catholic School, where attitude, self-esteem, and manners are just as important as the core subjects.
