Experience Summary
During my 12 year teaching career for the Kyrene Elementary School District, I wore many hats within the special education department ranging from the classroom to administrative duties. I was trained as a district "trainer of trainers" for a phonics based decoding reading instruction program and taught within my district and surrounding districts as well. I also worked for the local community colleges as adjunct faculty teaching potential special education teachers the same type of reading program. I have extensive experience with 1:1 tutoring as well as small and large group instruction.
Teaching Style
I believe in a multi sensory approach to teaching any subject matter. I believe in fostering academic and emotional success for each student with whom I work. I strive to accomplish this through positive reinforcement (intangible and tangible), humor and thorough knowledge of the subject matter at hand.
