Experience Summary
I have always loved the school environment. I have always been focused on learning as much as I can and this passion for learning has helped me get a bachelors degree in chemistry and learn how to speak, read and write Russian. I try to share what knowledge I have with others. I wrote a chemistry study guide for organic chemistry to help students learn the complex subject. Currently I tutor calculus and algebra on-line. I love doing this, but would also prefer more of one on one face to face kind of setting. I can tutor chemistry, calculus or algebra and would love doing so.
Teaching Style
With the right teacher who has the right attitude towards teaching, any student can be taught anything. The best types of teachers are the ones who make a subject, as Einstein might say " as simple as possible, but not simpler." They are the kind of teachers that can motivate a student to want to improve themselves. I think I am that kind of tutor.
I am the kind of person who likes to take a step by step approach to solving mathematical problems with students. If a student is stuck on a concept, I like to ask them questions that allow the student to think. Thereby I simply don't give the answer.
I am patient, considerate and hard working. I try to instill in students an ability to not fear making mistakes. Even the best mathematicians do. I strive to have kids love math, not hate it.
