Experience Summary
Growing up, I was always very gited academically. I never struggled with school, and learning was an easy pleasure. I graduated as valedictorian, and when I got to college I started tutoring to help others that had more difficulty in class. I didn't begin tutoring as a job until about two years ago, and since then have tutored in subjects including reading, math, and chemistry. While I am capable of teaching most subjects, science and especially math have always been my specialties.
Teaching Style
All my life I have loved to learn. I thrive on academics, and I remember my college and high school days with fondness. It makes me sad to see students struggle, their frustration pushing out any passion for what they are learning. As a tutor, I try to instill my own passion inside of them. Learning is exciting, and sometimes a change in perspective is all that is needed to bring understanding. I work with the student to find the best, most effective, approach to a subject. I am patient, friendly, and I'm very good at what I do. There is nothing so rewarding as to see the light of understanding come into the eyes of my students.
