Experience Summary
I am passionate about education. For this reason, I obtained both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Political Science. Until recently, I was pursuing my teaching credential at the University of San Francisco. Through this program, I was able to master courses including the education of exceptional children, and teaching and learning. My collegiate experience has paved the path for exceptional educational tutoring and development. As a graduate teaching assistant at San Francisco State University, I provided interactive lectures and individual tutoring assistance to students in the European Union, Comparative, and American politics courses. More recently, I engaged student learning as a tutor for SCORE educational centers in the fields of reading, writing, math, and algebra.
Teaching Style
I have worked with different types of students over the years. At San Francisco State University, my lectures were geared toward incoming freshman and International students. It was my work with international students in a tutorial setting that allowed for the growth of my skills as an ESL instructor. From this experience, I have incorporated patience and the ability to break concepts down for those with language barriers. After working with an ADD student at SCORE, I learned the importance of concentration and focus when teaching key items. Overall, I incorporate a level of engagement, patience, understanding, and excitement into my style of teaching.
