Experience Summary
Currently, I am a junior at Florida State University, in Florida. I am working on my BS degree in nutrition as a third year student and a minor in psychology. I have also received my AA degree from Lake City community college, where I worked for 3 years as a tutor. I started out tutoring disabled students in the college, and then every students that needed help through the computer learning lab center. I tutored different levels of math up to calculus I. So, basically I have taken various math courses during my school years. Besides math, I also tutored students in general chemistry I and II, and Organic. I love tutoring and it had been an exciting and rewarding experience.
Teaching Style
I believe that math should be fun both for the tutor and for the student who are trying to learn. I also believe that teaching style has a lot to do with how well children do in school and how motivated they in learning. I love to teach math and to change the way students look at it. Math needs to be not just a boring or hard course, but a fun and on the same time a little challenging subject.
My goal in teaching is to make the students, whoever they are, feel comfortable in learning new concepts and asking questions. I want them to feel motivated to learn new things in math everyday. Everyone is capable of learning and every student has the potential of achieving academic success.
