Experience Summary
I have loved education and the process of learning since I was a child. Due to family issues, I dropped out at in the 9th grade but due to extensive reading most of my life on many subjects, and being gifted intellectually, thank God, I was enrolled in college at the age of 16. Due to my age, I lacked the discipline needed to succeed then so joined the Army at 18 and finished first in my class in their HS program. I continued going to college in the evenings an weekends until I completed my Master's degree, meanwhile raising 3 children and running a certified home daycare. I am currently a Realtor but am looking to enroll in a Doctoral program in Education. I am a "people" person as they say and get refueled helping others learn and figuring out a way for it to make sense students to overcome their barriers. I am comfortable with all subjects except the higher maths (trigonometry/geometry) as I had never taken these courses.
Teaching Style
Teaching is not something I had initially aspired to but found I am a teacher and motivator by nature. I love the challenge of figuring what pieces, educational, each student is missing and helping them fill the their gaps to reach the next level and have things come together for them. I am very patient and try to make each session fun and interesting. My students and work associates have always enjoyed working with me and I like feeling/knowing that we all came away with something we didn't start with.
