Experience Summary
Will update in future. In summary, almost 30 year in corporate MIS/IT professional and management roles including adult technical education. Taught 7th grade math then last 2 years AP and Honors Physics plus general science. Tutoring at a Huntington Learning Center for last 9 months. I have tutored in math and science.
Teaching Style
In the classroom my teaching is as interactive and engaging as my skills and students allow. One-on-one teaching is very Socratic. I guide and coach the student to learn for themselves by understanding their most effective learning styles, their strengths and weaknesses, their motivations and frustrations. I believe in building confidence through success and positive reinforcement. I believe in striving for understanding over rote memorization and will challenge students to apply what they learn through probing and thought-provoking questions and challenging problems.
