Experience Summary
As a graduate of a private liberal arts college, I was educated in English and multi-cultural literature. As a reflection of what I was learning, I became interested in participating in the literary tradition, and began to take creative writing very seriously. I developed a passion for both poetry and literature and wish to share it with my students. I have tutored English, writing, history, ecology, and screenwriting.
Teaching Style
My passion for language and literature drives my desire to teach; I love to share everything from a basic grammar lesson to an in-depth, critical exegesis of a foreign novel. I strive to provide an individual-based educational experience for each child. I draw on each student's strengths and weaknesses to tailor each lesson. As the poet Stanley Kunitz once wrote, "live in the layers / not on the litter."
