Experience Summary
I graduated with a BSE in English education. I previously taught 10th grade English at Ridgeland High School in Ridgeland, MS. My main objective was to prepare these students for the state English test. For the past six months I have been tutoring students of all grade levels in reading comprehension and writing through an online tutoring company. I enjoy teaching creative writing as well as essay writing.
Teaching Style
I believe that every student learns different ways and at different rates. As a teacher it is important to learn these differences in each student and adapt your teaching style to the student. I believe that it is important to provide constructive criticism without diminishing a student's self-confidence. I want the students to feel comfortable with me so that they will feel more confidant making mistakes and asking question. This is especially important when students are reading aloud in front of their peers.
