Experience Summary
I have always enjoyed working with children. In college, I was soccer coach and this inspired me to continue working with children. After graduating with a BA in Visual arts, I naturally chose to share my love of culture and creativity with children as an art educator. I taught for one school year at Cimino and Summerfield elementary as a split school teacher. From there, I moved to North Carolina where I became a substitute teacher. This experience exposed me to all subjects, ages, and abilities. Now that I have moved back to Florida, I wish to continue working with children.
Teaching Style
I have always been able to communicate well with children. Not only has this made my experiences working with children enjoyable, it has helped me learn more about them. I know that they all have different tools to learn with and need the opportunity to use them to their advantage. I have a positive, constructive, and patient way of working with children. I believe learning should be fun, inspiring, and rewarding. This philosophy will give children the fortitude to seek out knowledge throughout their lives and the strength to overcome adversity. I believe instilling a "can do" attitude and positive learning experiences, children can achieve their full potential.
