I was also the teacher for 9 PreK students ID'd as having speech delays and was in charge of teaching them beginning phonemic awareness and speech sounds. I have been in Pinellas County for 2 years now, working a a primary autism teacher at two different elementary schools. I also have 2+ years in working respite care and community based instruction for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Teaching Style
My teaching style consists of high energy and a positive attitude. I am a firm believer that positive energy is contageous and as such brings a high level of enthusiasm to my classroom. I am not afraid to "have fun" with my students as long as they are fully aware of what is expected from them. I run a routine-oriented classroom packed with visual cues, sensory stimulating activities, and an attitude that each of my students will succeed to their maximum potential. I also do my best to ensure that my students know they are well cared-for and safe and that it is ok to have fun while we learn.
