Experience Summary
As a high school student I tutored as part of the National Honor Society for 2 years. I tutored elementary and middle school students in group settings after school. I helped them with all subjects. After graduating from Michigan State University I have been tutoring privately in college level mathematics. I also attended a semester of Medical School and at the end of the semester I was selected to be a teaching assistant for Anatomy. I assisted for a few weeks but then I had to leave medical school due to bereavement reasons. My experience as an assistant for those weeks was very exciting, but was similar to how I interacted with my lab partners in making sure that everyone knew the material the previous semester.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with children and providing them with the opportunity to better their education. The smile on a person's face when they understand the material or are able to solve a difficult problem is a great success for myself. I am extremely patient with people of all ages, I like to make sure to talk out everything with the student to get an idea as to their understanding of the material. I am really good with younger children, I have been babysitting for many years. I think the opportunity to teach people or just give them the tools to learn on their own is a wonderful experience.
