Experience Summary
I have been working in the realm of education for 10 years. Although I have not worked directly in the classroom, I have been involved in the administration of education for many years. I have worked as an admissions director, registrar, as well as a curriculum developer. I have also worked in the accreditation process and written catalogs, handbooks, and administrative manuals. In recent years I have earned an MEd, which has further prepared me for my current occupation as a Registrar and has given me a greater desire to teach and tutor children. For my MEd I did an internship at a school where I worked as a tutor as well as an administrative assistant for 3 months. I also worked at a school as a teacher for a keyboarding class, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I have a great love for teaching and due to my current occupation as a registrar I do not get the time in the classroom I would like. Having the opportunity to tutor would be a fulfillment of this desire.
Teaching Style
As an educator, I believe that teaching should be interactive and varied. Children are all different and as such, they each learn differently. I am a very easy going person, as well as patient. I love to be creative when teaching and to make it interactive between the student and myself. There is nothing more gratifying than when a student looks at you and understands a concept for the first time. My goal is to provide solid instruction that a student can build on for further education. I also believe in providing encouragement and fostering a good self-image in students. It is my desire to assist in any way I can to make a difference in the lives of students and see them come to their fullest potential.
