Experience Summary
Throughout my years of teaching I had some students who needed additional help so I tutored along with my teaching. I spent extra time with them after class or in a laboratory. I won many awards for teaching and was selected teacher of the year in 2002. Along with adult college students, I have worked with Boy Scouts, middle school students and high school students. Also, I volunteered as an instructor for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is like a coach. I show the student the method to solve the problem and then I observe, correct and praise the student while he/she solves similar problems. It is important to explain the underlining principle in the problem so the student will be able to solve similar problems without just memorizing a few rules. I try to use the best learning style (verbal, logical, visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc) that fits each student.
