Experience Summary
Ever since I was a child, I have loved education, learning, and especially teaching. I started my college career taking education classes. In most of my summer jobs, I have been a youth counselor and leader. I volunteered as a calculus math tutor at BYU. Serving as a volunteer in Japan taught me many things in culture, religion and ethnicity, as well as a foreign language. I trained missionaries learning the Japanese language and religious lessons. Two years ago, I started my dream of teaching in the elementary school and have enjoyed both 5th and 6th grade. I especially love teaching science and math.
Teaching Style
My teaching goal is to engage all students. Learning is fun. I am enthusiastic about any subject matter to be taught. Expecting students to master the concept, I teach in a variety of ways (discovery, literacy, guided learning, direct instruction, etc) until I feel that they have it. I like to see students succeed and know that they are succeeding. Watching students grow in their knowledge and their love of learning makes my job worthwhile.
