Experience Summary
Throughout the course of my studies, I have always considered the career path as an educator in foreign language. Following my graduation in 2004, I left the United States to work for the French Ministry of Education. In France, I taught three different levels of primary school English for various public schools within the academy of Amiens. After fulfilling my contracted vocation abroad, I quickly acquired a position as a French teacher at a Catholic high school. I taught grades nine through eleventh in conjunction with sponsoring the National French exam and other various cultural activities. However, the French program was eventually phased out of the curriculum due to budget constraints in 2007. Since my time in Florida, I have pursued a Master's degree in French literature at the University of Florida on a part-time basis to further my professional career as a foreign language educator. I have privately tutored many university and high school students throughout my pedagogical career.
Teaching Style
As a French teacher, I have already found the value and rewards of a foreign language educator. Since my time abroad, I have gained a wealth of knowledge from various teaching styles adopted by the French Ministry of Education. I am perpetually concerned with improving various areas of my instructional skills. My pedagogical experiences have allowed me to teach oral classes as well as intensive grammar for children of all ages. I continuously strive to better my own language skills while pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Florida.
