Experience Summary
I recently graduated from the University of Colorado with two bachelor's degrees in elementary education and psychology. Throughout my studies at CU I taught at several different (and diverse) elementary scools in the front range area. I've taught second through fifth grades. I first started tutoring middle school students when I was in high school, and my tutoring continued throughout college. I was given an award of excellence on the Praxis II exam (required for teacher licensure). My writing skills and ability to differentiate instruction are some of my stronger skills due to extensive practice and refining throughout college.
Teaching Style
I am a passionate teacher willing to devote my time and abilities to the success of my students. I believe that a teacher's ability to personally tailor instruction to his/her students is imperative to the student's success. Differentiation and classroom management have been personal strengths in my past educational experiences. My goal is to provide an environment for students to learn at their own pace, feeling secure and confident in their abilities. Throughout my own personal education, as well as my involvement in the CU school of education, I've come to understand the importance of teachers in children's lives. I feel strongly about my ability to make a beneficial impact for all of my students.
