Experience Summary
In high school and the university I was a well-rounded student. I excelled in math and writing and eventually became interested in psychology. I am presently working on my doctorate in Clinical Psychology where I have learned the material in depth, work with people regularly, and have had opportunities to be a teaching assistant for statistics and cognitive assessment. In addition I have taught second graders about diversity. Before graduate school I spent a year tutoring high schoolers for the math portion of the SAT and science portion of the ACT.
Teaching Style
Working with adolescents and children is an exciting and rewarding experience for me. I know that children learn in different ways and individualized attention can help them excel. My teaching style is interactive in which I ask students questions and encourage them to verbalize their understanding of the material they learn. I identify students' strengths and use these to maximize their learning potential. I utilize real-life examples to illustrate the material I teach and help students remember it better.
