Experience Summary
As of University of Minnesota graduate with a BS in Biology I have obtained vast knowledge in biological and chemical sciences. With the knowledge and understanding grasped in these subjects I tutored college students in organic chemistry. Through obtaining my degree I am also versed in mathematics and have extensive training in written communication skills. Furthermore, volunteering as a certified HIV/AIDS instructor for the American Red Cross has also aided in my acquisition of the skills necessary to facilitate an active learning environment.
Teaching Style
My primary objective is to help the student understand the material to the fullest of their extent. By achieving this standard I am confident that the student is able to tackle whatever topic it was that they were struggling with. To reach this point I first like to identify with the individual what is troubling them the most as all people have different learning abilities and difficulties. Once I am clear on what needs attention I proceed to cover the material utilizing different strategies until I find one that works best with the particular student. I go into every session believing that each student is able to succeed and that I can help aid in that process. It’s just as rewarding for me to see their achievement as it is for them.
