Experience Summary
I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Communication Science and Disorders – Language, Speech, and Hearing. While attending, I completed fifty observation hours of which twenty-five were required from the American Speech and Hearing Association at the Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinics located at the University of South Florida. Prior, I completed my Associate of Arts Degree with a major in Liberal Arts at Saint Petersburg College. While attending, I focused my studies on American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. I m fluent in American Sign Language and have over one hundred contact hours in the deaf and hard of hearing community. During my studies, I have worked at the Magnolia House, which was an assisted living facility for the deaf with mental challenges. I have also worked at the Deaf and Hearing Connection and volunteered at the Clearwater Community Center teaching Literacy.
Teaching Style
My passion is in Deaf education. However, I love teaching all children and adults. Education is the most important thing one can accomplish. It is my goal to ensure that children and adults receive the proper tools to ensure learning. I realize children and adults learn differently. I will explore every avenue to ensure my students comprehend any challenges they may be facing in a constructive manner. There is nothing more rewarding then seeing someone understand a topic after he or she has been struggling to learn.
