Experience Summary
I have always had a passion for English literature and the written word. Having recently graduated college with a bachelor's in English, I am seeking a part-time position that specializes my skills: promotion of literacy, composition, and creative thinking. I have tutored at elementary schools during college, but I am a strong communicator with all age levels.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is typically hands-off. Basically, as Socrates would do, I reveal the information already inside the person, and their desire to learn. What I have to teach them is irrevelant to what they teach themselves, which in turn, creates a more rewarding experience for the person. I feel relation is the key to holding attention and making the material worthwhile. I like to draw upon examples and measure progress in the individual.
