Experience Summary
I started in 2001, teaching in a Pre-K Classroom with thirty students. I taught them the early foundation skills that led them to gain the necessary information to prepare for Kindergarten and beyond. I am now teaching in a Kindergarten classroom and tutoring students during the day that are below level, preparing them for the Stanford tests and helping them build the necessary skills so that they will be prepared for the Stanford tests and FCAT in the upcoming years. I have tutored elementary and middle school students in math, English, and reading comprehension. I am presently in graduate school working towards my M.ED in Elementary Education. I am excited about helping students learn and acquire new information that will be benefit them for a lifetime.
Teaching Style
In my teaching profession it is my aspiration to meet the child at his/her developmental level, and promote academic, social, and emotional growth of the total person through problem solving, and critical thinking. My goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that meets all diverse student needs. I have high expectations of all students and desire to see them develop into life-long learners. Each child will be motivated to acquire knowledge, develop positive character traits and embrace learning as a life-long adventure. I believe that students learn best when they have appropriate opportunities for success and resources that promote high expectations. All students can develop a positive self-concept by performing at or above mastery level on state standards, while meeting or exceeding expected growth.
