Experience Summary
I have a Bachelor's in Psychology, and I will complete a Master in Public Health in May. I have been tutoring for the past five years. I worked for The Princeton Review as a classroom teacher and as a private tutor. I have worked as a private tutor for the past two years. I can teach SAT, SSAT, and GRE preparation. I also teach all subjects up through early high school, as well as math up through Algebra I.
Teaching Style
The most important element of my teaching style is patience. I consistently receive positive feedback from my students about my patience. I think it is important that learning not be fear-based. That is, students should not feel compelled to learn material because they are afraid of disappointing their teachers or families. Instead, a supportive learning environment lends itself to creating a safe place for students to make mistakes without feeling embarrassed. In this way, students can learn through trial and error.
