Experience Summary
My experience has been varied. I taught many learning impaired as well as advanced and average high school and middle school students from 5th to 12th grades. I also have travelled internationally (mostly in the summers, of course)a great deal, which has added greatly to my experiences and ability to communicate. I have taugh in small classes or tutored in English, Literature, some math, humanities, history and study skills. I also taught age 5 through 14 in London, England. Here I implemented small classes of writing, study skills, homework support, history and humanities, as well as strictly tutorial. Teaching with animation to keep the kids interested and encouraging their participation with Theater techniques and improvisation has helped to keep them interested in learning.
Teaching Style
I do so like to teach with positivity, listening, understanding but also limit-setting and consistency. I like to explore creativity and theater and music and relate it to the students current interests, making it fun! I very much enjoy working with kids of many different nationalities and cultures when given the opportunity, but enjoy every student for what their unique differences bring to the world and like to explore these differences by acceptance and compassion, while striving to create new ways of learning.
