Experience Summary
Throughout my 4.5 years at the University of Florida I was determined to get the most out of my college experience. While earning my degree in a Computer Engineering related major and my mathematics minor I also participated in intramural softball, volunteering, and tutoring. I tutored at the AT Teaching Center at the University of Florida for a little over a year. I helped groups of students with Calculus 2, 3 and Differential Equations. I also was a private tutor for Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1 and Business Calculus. I participated in tutor training sessions held at the center to further advance my communication skills.
Teaching Style
I believe anyone can learn and enjoy mathematics. I love puzzles and figuring out solutions to problems. I like to think of tutoring a student as a puzzle. Each student learns different from the next. It's a matter of finding the method which the student learns the material the best. Once I've found this method the student learns better and will enjoy learning because he/she will understand and grasp the concepts easier. In the length of time I tutored I encountered a variety of different learning styles and abilities. This helped me expand my methods of tutoring, enhance my communication skills, and fully develop my patience. I believe I can make a difference in a student's education through my teaching. I enjoy helping students improve.
