Experience Summary
Ever since I came to U.S. as a graduate student in 1968, I have been using English everyday for various communications, including speaking and writing. I have taught some laboratory sessions as a teaching assistant. After obtaining a Ph.D. and working for a few large companies such as DuPont, I had taught many courses at Tunghai University in Taiwan as a full professor, both in the Dept. of Env. Sciences and Dept. of Industrial Engineering, for about 4 years. As Manager of Industrial Hygiene, I have also trained many employees in Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, and Material Safety.
Teaching Style
I have extensive experiences in teaching college students and adult emaployees, as described above. Although I do not have experience in teaching and tutoring high school or younger students, I believe that a key factor in teaching or tutoring is to inspire the students, no matter what the subjects are. If only you can bring their attention and focus to the subjects, with high interests, they will definitely learn. Therefore, maintaining a high level of communication between myself and the students is essential.
