Experience Summary
Currently I am working in elementary school as an ESOL (English learners) tutor, recently received my letter of elegiblity to teach Biology 6-12 and ESOL.
The high school that I attended was a vocational school focused on social work; therefore I had the opportunity to work with different community development programs, including teaching academics, arts & crafts, and directing recreational activities, etc.
During my college education I had a semester of practice teaching biology and chemistry in public school, when I immigrated to the USA I privately taught Spanish. Now I am a certified substitute teacher for the Collier County School District. I also applied for the teacher certification and I am expecting the 'letter of eligibility", from the Florida Department of Education, in the near future.
Teaching Style
The experiences I gathered during my high school practices really defined a great deal of whom I am now, I loved the work I did with children. I know, first hand, the difference that a teacher can make, not only because of the teachers that influenced me for life but also because when we moved to the USA my son learned English but also received a great amount of support in a very critical period in his life from his teachers.
I am pursuing a career as a teacher; it has been one of my long term goals, and I am eager to accomplish the requirements for certification as soon as possible.
