Experience Summary
1998 was the my first tutoring experience, I took time from busy school schedule to tutor students in Math and Science at a low income school near my college. After spending time tutoring students in a variety of subjects I decided to go for an education degree once I finished my undergraduate degree. While working towards my Masters degree I spent a semester working in the Seattle Public school as a substitute teachers aid. Once I finished my Masters degree and teaching certification I received a job as an Earth Science teacher. I taught for one year at that school and then moved to the state of Tennessee. For the past two years I have taught Biology, Physical Science, and Ecology.
Teaching Style
I firmly believe that to be an effective teacher you need to make the subject interesting to the students. While teaching I think it is very important to provide examples as to why the subject matter is necessary for the students to learn. My end all desire in teaching is for the students to walk out of my classroom knowing the importance of the topic they may be studying.
