Experience Summary
I hold a Master Degree in Physics from University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. I have acquired many experience working as a university, middle, and high level physics educator. In addition, I taught chemistry, general and calculus math. On 1994 I have had the opportunity to evaluate and contribute in the design of the new science standard education techniques for the USA elementary schools on the National Conference Operation Chemistry. I was a judge on the 2003 high school student chemistry research county competitions, as well as in 2004 Puerto Rican Universities Olympic Science Competition in concepts and class techniques for the future science’s teachers. At this moment I am working as a physics, chemistry, and calculus math tutor for university and high school students. I would like to continue being able to share my passion for this field and explore new frontiers of my interest.
Teaching Style
Because each student learns in different way, I use many things on class. Using short demonstrations, drawings, diagram of the situation, and/or computer simulations, the students discover the concept by themselves. They traduce and solve it mathematically. Expand the idea to general cases by generating a graph. The use of technology, InFocus or vertical projector, electronic board, and the classroom like a laboratory give the students good tools for understanding. They have the opportunity to discuss the assignments, and communicate with me at any moment using the Blackboard.
