Experience Summary
I hold a B.S. degree in Biostatistics, and 4 M.S. degrees in Statistics, Mathematics and Engineering. I have taken several undergraduate and graduate MATH courses and am very confident in teaching MATH. I have taught PHYSICS 180L to undergraduate students at UNR for one year. I have taught Fluid Mechanics and Statistics to undergraduate students at the University of Sri Lanka for 3 years. I have been a teaching assistant in GEOL 614 (Fluid dynamics), APST 275 at UNR. These courses require and involve a lot of math background. I have graded STAT 352 and MATH 300 (Linear Algebra) and helped the professor in preparing lessons for these courses. I also have worked as the assistant MATH center supervisor at UNR for one year and have hired and trained tutors.
Teaching Style
I have always enjoyed teaching. I love teaching. I am always available to help children and I never get tired of teaching and helping children. I am always there to answer any question and I encourage students to ask questions. Children love me for my patience, availability and approachability. I treat all children alike and never discriminate. I encourage and help students do their homework and I find and use special techniques to explain difficult and hard to understand topics. I am well educated and I have gained a lot of good ideas about how a teacher should be from my learning experiences. I have taught students of many different grade levels, so I know how to determine a student's strengths and weaknesses very well.
