Experience Summary
Every instructor brings a variety of personal knowledge and experience to their profession. During my ten years as an instructor of Special Education, I have taught a wide spectrum of subjects and grade levels. (Elementary, middle, high school math, English, reading, science, daily living skills, career preparation and experience). I am currently teaching mainstream math -- FCAT preparatory. In addition to my teaching assignments, I have continued my own educational growth through graduate level courses, training workshops and in-services. All of this upper education and training has proven successful through my ability to teach heterogeneous classes. In previous years, I have tutored students through the home-bound program in areas of math, English, science, and history. I recently particpated as an instructor of math through the Florida Virtual School.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching and I have a varied background of knowledge and history. It is important for me to realize that different students have different learning styles and bring different levels of maturity, interest and motivation to the classroom. My students all have different cultural backgrounds and educational abilities. I have received high reviews from my students, students’ parents, and co-workers. I can say that my efforts are successful and their feedback over the years have provided me with an excellent tool to gauge the effectiveness of my classroom methods and to strive for better teaching standards and strategies. I strive to make a difference in a child's educational life as well as their life in the community.
