Experience Summary
In regards to experience, I'd taught in a middle school as a Reading Specialist, as a member of the Americorps national service program.
During my term, I'd implemented a measurable reading workshop and organized two school-wide literacy events, recruiting over twenty local media personalities to guest read. I have a degree in English from the University of Kentucky, and I have vast experience in document authorship, including both literary and technical compositions.
Teaching Style
It is my experience that students do better in smaller groups with more individual attention, which in turn helps me to get a better understanding of how to move forward. I've started at the phonics level in this regard, where patience and understanding is key. I like to maintain a relaxed teaching environment, though I like to keep things moving along.
