Experience Summary
Throughout my schooling, I’ve been very driven towards academic excellence. Because of my successes, I skipped 1st and 12th grade to begin college as the youngest freshman of the year at Carnegie Mellon University. I completed 2 years of Industrial Design, and Rapid Prototyping Engineering education at that fabulous institution; and, I am currently studying for my bachelor’s degree at The Art Institute Online (A Division of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh) in Interactive Media Design. I have been tutoring in mathematics for the past four years, specifically Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. Professionally, for the past two years, I’ve worked as a freelance graphic artist. I am skilled in Adobe Creative Suite 2, Rhino 3.0, and Corel Bryce 5.
Teaching Style
I enjoy guiding pupils through the journey of “ah-ha” moments. That initial expression of joy and true understanding is my fuel for teaching. Whether old or young, I believe everyone is more than capable of comprehending any form of information, if presented in the correct fashion. It is my job, as an educator, to find creative approaches to teach my students. Any failure on their part, if they put forth a strong effort, is a direct correlation of the failure of the teaching method, and ultimately the teacher themselves. I don’t enjoy failing; so, the only acceptable solution is success!
